US Ambassador To EU Accused Of Sexual Misconduct
The US ambassador to the EU, has been accused of sexual misconduct.
Gordon Sondland was accused by three women of unsolicited touching and kissing.
The allegations came up before he became an ambassador – published by Portland Monthly magazine and ProPublica.
Reports say he was developing hotels in Portland and Seattle in the Pacific Northwest, at the time of the alleged incidents.
Sondland denies all of the allegations, claiming that the women were targeting him for his role in President Donald Trump’s impeachment hearings.
“These untrue claims of unwanted touching and kissing are concocted and, I believe, co-ordinated for political purposes,” he said in a statement.
“They have no basis in fact, and I categorically deny them.”
The women said after they rejected Sondland sexual advances, he retaliated against them professionally.
They said he was verbally abusing them at their workplace and withdrawing offers of professional introductions.
