Senate President Welcomes Uzor Kalu Back To Chamber
Ahmad Lawan, Senate President
Nigeria’s Senate president, Senator Ahmad Lawan has on Tuesday welcomed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu back to the chamber.
Welcoming him, Lawan said, ” Welcome back our one and only Chief Whip. We are very grateful to God for bringing you back.”
Kalu, a former governor of Abia state, was sentenced to 12 years in prison in December 2019.
He was charged for N7.2 billion fraud belonging to Abia, .
However, a court order granted his immediate release on June 2.
He is now an APC member from Abia North. He is also the Chief Whip of the hallowed Chamber.
