Nigerian Troops Rescue Over 90 hostages From Borno Terrorists Camps

Nigerian troops of Operation Lafiya Dole in Borno state has rescued more than 90 hostages from terrorists camps in Borno.

The Nigerian Army through a statement released by its spokesman Col. Sagir Musa who revealed this on Monday morning, said the freed hostages, who the terrorists used as labourers were 51 children,42 women and 2 men.

The success was achieved by troops of 112 Task Force Battalion and 22 Brigade in collaboration with members of Civilian Joint Task Force and vigilante group on Saturday 22 June, 2019, when they conducted a robust clearance operation to Kobe and Boboshe villages respectively.

The troops, according to the statement released, discovered newly established camps at Dubula village with some bicycles and motorcycle tracks. The camp was destroyed and one of the terrorists was neutralised while trying to escape.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu, the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole, has on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff commended the entire troops of the Division for the success of the operation and also assured them of assurances of Chief of Army Staff’s unrelenting support.
