Buhari Appoints Acting President For Court Of Appeal
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Hon. Justice Monica Mensem as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal.
The appointment is for an initial period of three (3) months.
The appointment takes effect from March 6, 2020 as the incumbent President, Hon. Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, retires from service.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, issued a statement to this effect.
Garba Shehu said the appointment stays till a substantive appointment is made.
“The President’s approval of the appointment of Justice Mensem, followed the recommendation of the Chief Justice of Nigeria in line with the provisions of Section 238(4) & (5) of the 1999 Constitution as amended,” the statement said.
