{"id":23084,"date":"2022-02-18T11:33:28","date_gmt":"2022-02-18T11:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aigmediapro.tv\/?p=23084"},"modified":"2022-02-18T11:33:31","modified_gmt":"2022-02-18T11:33:31","slug":"first-igbo-lecturer-at-oxford-university-inducted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aigmediapro.tv\/first-igbo-lecturer-at-oxford-university-inducted\/","title":{"rendered":"FIRST IGBO LECTURER AT OXFORD UNIVERSITY INDUCTED"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"540\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aigmediapro.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/20220218_122820-540x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23090\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Oxford, England, has inducted Emmanuel Ikechukwu Umeonyirioha as its first Igbo Language lecturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Umeonyirioha made the announcement on his Twitter handle on Thursday night, as he noted that it was the first time that the language would be taught in the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, the lecturer vowed to make the language and culture \u201cknown to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aigmediapro.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/FL07O9uXoAgk_5n-750x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23085\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He tweeted, \u201cIt is official that I am the first official Igbo Language lecturer at the number one university in the world, the University of Oxford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur induction happened today by Marion Sadoux, Head of Modern Language Programmes, University of Oxford Language Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis became possible in account of the James Currey Society. This is the first time Igbo language will be taught at the university. History has been made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am so happy and grateful for this opportunity.
