A confidential informant for the United States and Israeli intelligence service has been sentenced to death on Tuesday for leaking the whereabouts of Iran’s slain Revolutionary Guards commander, Qassem Soliemani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The information provided by the informant led to the drone strike by the United States on January 3, which killed the leader of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force. Qassem Soliemani was blamed for being the tactician of the attack by militias aligned to Iran on the United States forces in that region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili said in a televised news conference that information was given by the informant, Mahmoud Mousavi-Majid to the CIA and the Mossad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mahmoud Mousavi-Majid was sentenced to death by a revolutionary court and the sentence was upheld by a supreme court. Mahmoud Mousavi-Majid would be executed soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The death of Soliemani led to the peak of the confrontation between Iran and the United States. In a bid to retaliate the attack, Iran launched a rocket attack on an Iraqi air base with stationed United States Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
