Tinubu promises to resolve Nigeria’s economic woes

President Bola Tinubu has assured that his administration will reverse the harsh economic situation in the country.

Tinubu gave the assurance on Wednesday in an address delivered at the All Nigeria Editors Conference (ANEC) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The President, through Minister of Information Mohammed Idris, stated that he understood the suffering Nigerians were going through and that important measures had been taken to lessen the impact of the fuel subsidy removal on the populace.

Listing actions taken by the administration, he listed the N100 billion CNG-powered buses, the N35,000 pay award to civil servants, and the signing of five executive directives to boost enterprises.

He also mentioned the creation of a committee to lessen Nigerians’ tax burden and the attempts to pay off billions of dollars worth of inherited foreign exchange arrears.

“The pains being faced by Nigerians are necessary sacrifices we all have to make; we are all stakeholders in the development of our dear nation,” he added.

Tinubu added that his administration was working to build a wealthy and vibrant country rather than taking a break, promising that enlightening conversations regarding economic expansion would be warmly received by the government.

The President urged the media to be objective and truthful in the coverage of national affairs.
