THE POWER OF ‘CAN’

Living in a city like Lagos can be extreme. it’s like your living in the street of Yemen or Syria. Lagos is made of different shades, and every day a different shade is dished to you without your permission; nobody cares if your ready or not, it just comes at you. starting from the estate you live in (if you’re lucky enough) to the crazy traffic on the road (some say island drivers all have a death wish) down to your place of work or business etc.

in Lagos everyone is trying to scramble for what they can. you might say, every minute opportunities are passing and it’s either left for you to spot a good one and go all in for it. Have you ever come across the concept of LAGOS MONEY? I guess this is what makes Lagos the most populous state in the whole federation. lagos is a land of opportunity. the level of diversity here is beautiful yet frightening, only the bold, smart and incredible thinkers survive out here. it’s like a game of chess, only the ones that make the right moves checkmate.

now the power of ‘can’. in Lagos your surest means of getting a job, gig or even your heart desires is the power of CAN. you need to make up your heart you CAN get something done, you don’t even need to be an expert to convince someone or even yourself that you can deliver.

I will tell you a story, there was a young man, he never knew much about video equipment or even the right setups but he believed its something he could do. so he went for the job and on his way there, he kept watching youtube videos that explained different types of equipment and easy ways to set them up. (technology – Mans gift to humanity) he got there, partially confused but had already made up his mind he could do it. when given the equipment he handled it so well, as though he was an expert, that was how he got the job.

in a city like Lagos, no one wants to hear your inexperienced, no one wants to pay an inexperienced lad. so the question is, CAN you do this?
