WHO IS UCHE SECONDUS?

Prince Uche Secondus is a Rivers-born Politician and businessman from Andoni local government area of Rivers state.

Secondus joined politics in 1978. He served as PDP acting chairman between 2015 and 2016.

POLITICAL CRISIS.

Secondus has been accused by fellow party members of corruption and bad leadership. During the party meeting, leaders of the party and members of the board of trustees came to a definite decision to release Secondus of his position as National Chairman of the party before October 2021.

Following the event of 3 PDP Governors and some National Assembly members decamping to a rival party, All Progressive Congress (APC). Members of the PDP have tagged this to poor leadership on the part of Secondus to keep the party on lockdown.

COURT CASE.

The interim high court of Rivers State ordered the restrain of Uche Secondus from parading himself as the National party chairman of the PDP.

The court order was confirmed by BBC Pidgin, marked a PHC/2183/CS/2021.

The interim order reads:

”Order of interim injunction is granted restraining the first defendant (Secondus) from parading himself as a member of the second defendant or national chairman of the defendant.

”Or performing the function of national chairman of the second defendant or any committee of the second defendants at the ward, local government, or state level.

”Or calling for any ward, local government or state congress of the second defendant or setting up committees for such congresses or participating in any activity of the activity of the second defendant.”
