Lagos State Governor seeks Ndigbo support in the forthcoming Gubernatorial election

The Governor of Lagos State in the person of Babajide Sanwo-Olu recently had a joint meeting with the Ohaneze Ndigbo and Yoruba leaders over the forthcoming Gubernatorial election. It is important for the joint leadership of the Lagos State leaders of thoughts led by the Yoruba Council Worldwide and Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State to immediately move into action by calling for calm and understanding with the non-indigenous citizens, especially the Ibo extraction and the supporters to support and re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term.

It has also come to our notice that the Secretary-General of the Ohaneze Ndigbo, in the person of Okechukwu Isiguzoro has been plotting under the disguise of ethnicity in inciting the public to vote out the governor in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, which is a violation of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Isiguzoro has also affirmed that the Ndigbo has vowed to hold Governor Oba Akinolu of Lagos and Musiliu Ayinde (MC Oluomo), responsible for any and the attacks on Igbos in the state especially following the win of the Labour Party presidential candidate in Lagos state. He is also calling for self-defense in any of such subsequent attacks while saying that self-defense is a universal law.

The President of the Yoruba Council Worldwide in the person of Are Hassan Oladotun Esq has consulted with the Directorate at ICC Oduduwa GRA, Ikeja, and has also reached out to all the necessary stakeholders of the development, plans and how to curb the schemes in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

The Yoruba Council is appealing to the Igbo brothers and sisters in Lagos State to come together to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Governor of Lagos state for a second term.
