Friends of BOS, an independent people led movement mobilising support for the candidacy and reelection of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Governor of Lagos in the 2023 elections has unveiled plans for its “4MoreForBOS” Campaign. 

Friends of BOS was at the forefront of mobilising support for Governor Sanwo-Olu during the 2019 campaign and has since 2019 been involved in showcasing numerous initiatives of the BOS administration across Lagos State.

Under the global theme “Valuing the past, Striving for quality today and Working towards a greater Lagos”, the 4MoreForBOS campaign will utilise mainstream and digital media platforms to showcase the innovative transformational initiatives and socio-economic development projects around Lagos and present the bright and prosperous Greater Lagos that is emerging under the BOS administration.

Since 2019, Lagos has been undergoing a renaissance under Governor Sanwo-Olu, building on the achievements of past Governors. Large scale development across the state are dramatically improving how areas around the city are perceived, making them more desirable places to live and work, and better able to attract new people and businesses.

Throughout the 5 divisions of Lagos, we identify and showcase the key locations where such change has occurred over the last 3 years, and the major completed and ongoing socio-economic development initiatives that continue to deliver it. We then explore the key large scale regeneration opportunities going forward.

All completed and ongoing projects being executed across Lagos since May 29, 2019 as well as future planned projects to be implemented over the next five years will be featured as part of the campaign.

Among completed and ongoing initiatives to be showcased are the Integrated rice mill at Imota, 500 units of first and last Mile (FLM) buses, 100 high-medium capacity busses for standard routes, training of 51,514 graduates for the Graduate Internship programme, 5billion EduFund in partnership with First Bank and EdFin MFB, N1billion Fund targeted at businesses in the tourism, hospitality, entertainment, arts and culture sectors, N1billion Agric Value Chain Fund targeted at businesses that operate within the Agric value chain, training of 1,050 rural women in agricultural related enterprises and empowerment of 1000 residents at the third Phase of the Mega Empowerment programme.

4MoreForBOS will provide a content hub for details of all projects around Lagos and will provide regular updates on ongoing projects across Lagos while availing Lagosians the opportunity to be a part of a greater Lagos that is emerging.

The campaign will feature roads infrastructure projects across all local governments and local government development areas around the state including but not limited to, 1.4 km dual carriage Pen- Cinema Bridge, Agege, Tedi-Muwo and Link Bridge, Lagos-Ogun boundary roads in Alimosho and Agbado-Oke–Odo and access roads, 31 network of roads in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), 13.68 kilometers Oshodi-Abule-Egba BRT corridor, Mafoluku Bus Terminal, Yaba Bus Terminal and6 Junction/Roundabouts at Allen, Ikotun, Maryland, Lekki and Ajah (under Traffic Management Intervention Plan -TMIP),
signing of the $629 million financing facility with the China Harbour Engineering Company [CHEC] for the completion of the Lekki Deep Seaport project and completion the Lekki Free Trade Zone Jetty and off-loading platform.

4MoreForBOS will through multimedia platforms, propagate Lagos’ economic and investment opportunities, tourism potential, immense arts and cultural heritage and her wide range of entertainment hospitality, culinary and leisure experiences. 

The initiative will also include the e-citizens engagement opportunities like, YourVoiceLagos and Tell Governor BOS, to give every Lagosians the opportunity to have a voice in their government.

The objective of the campaign is to foster interaction, create a feeling of cooperation as well as a sense of belonging and, form a partnership with Lagosians to live out the professed love for their state by taking ownership of their city, become active partners with the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led, Lagos State Government and support initiatives by the administration to build and promote a more attractive, vibrant and soulful city which they will be proud of and will attract investors and visitors.
