BUHARI MUST GO: STUDENTS, WOMEN CELEBRATED WOMEN’S INTERNATIONAL DAY WITH PROTEST IN ABUJA.

The 8th of March of every year is marked as International Women’s Day globally. This year’s celebration took a new dimension in the Federal Capital Territory (FTC) Abuja.
The students and women who were seen chanting “Buhari Must Go” as they rally round the campus, they were angry against the increase in kidnapping and killings of students in schools by bandits in Niger and Zamfara States.
They also voiced out the recent increase in hunger, insecurity and hardship in the country, they called for the resignation of President Muhammad Buhari immediately due to his incompetence.
The protest was held at Gwako community in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FTC, it was part of the activities planned by residents to show their displeasure at the neglect of women’s affairs.
Stella Ajadi, one of the protesters said that the absences of portable water, electricity, good roads and health care facilities, which are the basic social amenities is lacking in the country.
She said, “We need empowerment, there is no money to do business. We don’t have potable water. The government deliberately abandoned and neglected us in the community. We are wives and mothers and we are suffering.”


Still in the mood of International women’s day celebration, the Female students of University of Abuja also had a peaceful protest in their mini campus situated at Gwagwalada to demand for adequate security in all the educational institutions across the country.
Some of the inscriptions on their placards reads:”women are the bearer of seed of eternity”, our children must be safe in schools”, Say no to bad government and insecurity”, and Buhari must go”.
They also said that the security agents seem helpless and incapable of handling the security plaguing the country. They also went further in painting major walls with ’Buhari Must Go’ inscriptions to create awareness.
They also condemned the continuous silence of Mr president over the killings and kidnapping of innocents Nigerians by bandits and herdsmen in the country.
